We have an off road area for parked cars in front of the church building. In wet weather some parts can get muddy. If it is full there is parking at Chaddesden Park car parks on Chaddesden Lane and off Maine Drive.

The Park Medical Practice kindly allows us to use their car park for our Sunday Services car parking.

There is no need to wear your "Sunday Best". Your day to day clothes are fine.

The building tends to be cool in the summer and we have central heating for the rest of the year!

Our Sunday Service begins at 10.00am. If you are running late dont worry. These things happen. Just come in and we will welcome you.

The main, west entrance has a few steps down into church. However, we also have step free access via the south entrance.

Yes. Our WC with baby changing facilities is at the rear of the church to the right of our kitchen. If you need to use it during the Service, whether that is during the songs, prayers or sermon, go ahead.

You will normally be welcomed by 1 or 2 people outside church whatever the weather. They will say hello and provide you with any initial questions you might have.

Inside on the left there is a welcome desk where the bibles, information cards and newsletters are available. We will have a churchwarden on duty who can help you.

We do not have reserved seating. You will not be taking someone's place. If you require the use of a wheelchair or soft seating talking to our welcomers or warden who will find a place for you.

No. We have ESv (English Standard Version) bibles for you to use during the service. If you have your own bible that you would prefer to use then we encourage people to do so.

Our Service can vary a little bit from week to week dependent upon whether it is Communion, an All Age or Baptism Service. Typically the Service has this pattern:

  • Welcome from the Service Leader including opening prayer and a word of scripture.
  • Opening 1 or 2 songs.
  • Confession
  • Kids Slot & Kids Song
  • Children go to Sunday School & Creche at our Memorial Hall
  • Prayers
  • Creed
  • Song
  • Bible Reading
  • Sermon
  • Song
  • Communion & Song (if being held)
  • Final Song
  • Final Prayer & Blessings
  • Notices
  • Refreshments & Notices

All our words are on the screen and the Service Leader will guide you. It is all very obvious.

If you are a Christian, you may well want to you join in and sing along with the hymns or say the praters or confessions. Or you might not.

If you are just looking or visiting, you might not be ready to join in. That is fine. NO one will judge you. Most of us have been where you are.

Communion is normally held on alternate Sundays. We have communion at our seats.

This is where Christians remember Jesus and how he died for us. At St Mary's if you know Jesus as your saviour and are baptised you can join us in communion. If you aren't ready for that , it is absolutely fine to not take communion.

We are glad to have children here and yours are welcome too.

Young people make a noise and perhaps it can be annoying for others and embarrassing for parents. If they settle then great but if they won't please do not be upset. We understand and are used to a little family chaos.

We have activity bags for the Service if that would help and a room at the back of church which is available for nursing or for sitting down little ones.

There is also a Sunday school with DBS checked leaders for 0-12 year olds during the adult portion of the service. They will be taken and brought back at the end of the service.

We have a few members with ASD, ADHD and various mental health conditions so we completely understand if some aspects of church are challenging.

You are welcome here. If it is too noisy, you can try to sit on the opposite side to the band. Headpnones may also be available to cancel the noise if you need them.

If church feels a bit "busy" then you can try the quiet room at the rear of the building.

If you need help, ask someone to get one of the welcomers or wardens to assist.

Please let us help you and make church work for you, whatever the issue.

After the Service has ended please stay behind for a tea/coffee/soft drink and buscuits and a chat. We would like to say "hi".

Our vicar Jason is available at the rear of church if you would like to talk with him.

If you would like someone to pray with you then we have people available.

If you would like to keep in touch then we will have contact cards available at the rear of the church.

No. We do not expect you to pay anything. We do not have a collection during the service.

If you wish to donate something for the upkeep of the building and the spreading of the gospel then thank you. We have donation boxes for cash and a contactless card machine at the rear of church.
